One of the best PowerShell Texts in my library.

I purchased this book mainly for its tie-ins to the Sapien Studio, a suite I use at work. However, it has become my most bookmarked text, and almost all those bookmarks have nothing to do with the Sapien Suite but are "ah ha" bits of information that had eluded me in countless other manuals. If you use Sapien, you MUST get this book. If you use any other IDE for PowerShell and you skip because of that, you're doing yourself a disservice. This is an excellent PowerShell Text that has ties to an IDE. Not the other way around.

You refer to there being "complete instructions" for setting up a test environment in the Appendix, which I have yet to find.

This book was good. How Males Jinns! We finally get to meet several in this book. We also get to meet more of Azra's family and much more exciting things happen. This books would make a great movie if the movie is done correctly. Wow! How long has it been since a genie has been on TV. I loved "I dream of Genie"! I would love to see this series brought to the big screen!! Can't wait for another book in this series!

Not all Dickens writings are what you think they are cracked up to be.

Aughhhh, another Charles Diskens book I couldn't wait to put down. It tried my patience to the ends. Long, stretched out, over dialogued...I simply forced myself to finish this book. I love Dickens when he's on, but my bucket list to read all of his books may turn out to be part torture.

About the Author
Robert Boyd has written widely on evolutionary theory, focusing especially on the evolution of cooperation and the role of culture in human evolution. His book Culture and the Evolutionary Process received the J. I. Staley Prize, and he has also published numerous articles in scientific journals and edited volumes. Boyd is currently the Origins Professor in the School of Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University.

Joan B. Silk has conducted extensive research on the social lives of monkeys and apes, including extended fieldwork on chimpanzees at Gombe Stream Reserve in Tanzania and on baboons in Kenya and Botswana. She is also interested in the application of evolutionary thinking to human behavior. She has published numerous articles in scientific journals and edited volumes. She is currently a professor in the School of Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University.

Championship-worthy guide of homonids and evolution

Excellent book. Even though I am actually not majoring in anthropology (actually, as a requirement for natural science in Boston University), it is very detailed and has good connections to high-school biology as well. So far, I think it is very accessible for even the most biologically ready high school student, and it has very vivacious (lovely) pictures. In general, it is a championship-winning book, with excellent objectives clearly outlined in each chapter, and great review questions in the end.

Bonus: it is worth reading the 5% of a (anything) is better than no like a (anything) at all. Thanks prof Hodges Simeon :-)

Great collection of names; but poor book for baby names

This is a great piece of scholarly work -- a vast compilation of Hindu names. But if you're looking for a source of unique baby names, this book will frustrate you a lot.
Other reviewers have already highlighted the user un-friendliness of the book ... small font, mixing of gender, confusing Sanskrit classical spelling -- with all of which I agree. So I'll elaborate on the names themselves.
After going through more than 20,000 names in this book, I doubt if you will 'yield' more than 50 names of either gender that would serve as unique names for your baby. The book gives no consideration to whether the name is for a human, whether it is acceptable, and whether it is pronounceable. For example, who in the right mind would name their son Sadaparibhuta (always in fear), or their daughter Dakini (a witch)?! And would you really want a long name like Mahasahasrapramardini?! The book is filled with such mythological names, so the acceptable ones are needles in the haystack.
However, to be fair to Maneka Gandhi, she has never touted this as a source of names for your baby. Her introduction does make it clear that she just intended this to be a work of scholarship. It is the readers who are construing this to be a book of baby names.

Moreover, I doubt if there is a more complete compilation of Hindu names around, than this one. If you have the patience (and you'll need lots of it, especially if you don't know your baby's gender!) this is a good book to go through. We did, and found a nice unique name for our little one.

worth it!

I was surprised to see the bad reviews for this book. This book is a collection of names in alphabetical order. Unfortunately it is not seperated gender-wise. I bought this book when I was expecting my second son. I wanted a name which went well with my first son's and I must say the book served its purpose. There are a lot of names from the epics, but you can ignore them (if you are not interested). It is just a vast collection of names.
Please note that it takes a few days and a lot of patience to go through those 20,000 names.

If you want to know the meaning of your name and its etymology particularly hindu sanskrit names then this is the book you have to go for. It will be more helpful if numerological aspects of the name is also included since the hindu belief runs concurrent with astrology and numerology

THAT was the kind of useless advice in the "book"

This "book" was a joke. I thought I was buying a book, but it is a pamphlet. The information was nothing more than what can be found with a quick search online or simply answered with common sense. How to learn about building a house? Do research online, read magazines, talk to people who have already built a home. THAT was the kind of useless advice in the "book". It was a waste of money, and the only reason I didn't send it back was because it made my husband laugh so much. He's convinced someone wrote a computer code to write this pamphlet. The cover image is badly photoshopped and fits perfectly with the entire charade of the publication. A fast one was definitely pulled here.

Very interesting!

It's pretty amazing to come across a comprehensive guide about shipping container homes.This book is packed with advise, such as it is inexpensive, versatile, easy to build, durable, with abundant supply and most of all its environmental friendly. It involves everything that you need most from the start, on making designs all the way through getting final permits and certificate of occupancy. Great idea with the most thorough and detailed guide you'll find. I came to know a lot more from this guide and after reading it now I am planning to have my own shipping container house. I must recommend this guide to all.

About the Author
Nina Bouraoui was born in Rennes, France, to an Algerian father and a French mother. Shortly thereafter, she moved with her family to Algiers, where she lived until the age of thirteen. Bouraoui received the literary prize Prix du Livre Inter in 1991 and the Prix Renaudot in 2005. Marjorie Attignol Salvodon is an assistant professor of French at Suffolk University. Jehanne-Marie Gavarini is an associate professor of art at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and a visiting scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University.

Astonishing writing

Beautifully written novel about the author's French/ Algerian dualities. The passages about Algeria are luminous, equal to those written about Algeria by Albert Camus.

A place in-between

This is a book about in-between-ness. About a young woman searching for her identity and finding that it doesn't fit neatly into any of the categories she sees around her. Nina is the daughter of an Algerian father and a French mother, living in Algeria during a time of rising conflict between Algeria and France, and her identity is being pulled apart at the seams.

Nina's state of being in-between in terms of national and cultural identity is mirrored in her struggle with her sexual identity. The English title "Tomboy" seems too trite of a translation - the French title conveys more of a sense of something in her gender identity being lacking, missing, lost. The fact that the story unfolds in Algeria makes Nina's struggle with her femininity even more poignant - in this context separation from the world of men involves a constriction of so many aspects of life. So her struggle continues: French or Algerian? Male or female? Child or adult?

The language and style of this book are as important - or more so - than the plot itself. The language is forceful, sonorous, repetitive - like waves breaking against the shore. There's hardly any dialogue: it's an internal story, strewn with thought fragments and angst. The language itself takes on such importance that the book almost reads as poetry in prose form. I couldn't call it an enjoyable book, but it's a powerful ode to the displacement and identity confusion that stem from wars like that in Algeria during the 1960s.

Pictures were very well done, but repetitive ~ I know what a dense evergreen forest looks like. I thought there would be more text explaining the pics, but there were only interviews (very brief) at the very end of the book.
I understand these people were not out for publicity, but still....

A new perspective on the forest!

I have had a chance to see this photographer's work and it is amazing. Looking at photos on screen is nice, but I can't wait for the hard copy to arrive.

This is my go to Christmas present this year.

While working as a software engineer he earned a second diploma in Project Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Gießen-Friedberg.
